Mats Nilsson is a distinguished researcher and entrepreneur in the life science sector, recognized for his contributions to research and innovation across disciplinary boundaries. He is a professor at the Science for Life Laboratory (SciLifeLab), Sweden’s leading center for life science research. Mats holds a PhD in medical genetics from Uppsala University and serves as a professor of biochemistry and molecular diagnostics at the Department of Biochemistry and Biophysics at Stockholm University. His research focuses on developing molecular analytical methods to improve the diagnostics of infectious diseases and cancer. Mats is a co-founder of several biotech companies, including Olink, Q-linea, Halo Genomics and Cartana. He also has extensive board experience and serves on the board of Aplex Bio, among other companies.
