Sciety AB, reg. no. 556990-3692 (“Sciety”), is the data controller for the processing of your personal data on the website www.sciety.com (the “Website”) and in our services. For information on how to contact us, see section 9 below.

2.       Entry into force and update of Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy enters into force on 8th February 2016 and was last updated the 8 October 2018.

If minor changes to this Privacy Policy are made, an updated version of the Privacy Policy will be published on the Website with information regarding when the updated version comes into effect.

If we wish to make more significant changes in the Privacy Policy, you will receive information regarding this via e-mail.

By visiting and using our Website, you consent to this Privacy Policy.

3.       How your personal data is collected

We collect personal information about you when you visit and use the Website; become a member and/or create an account for yourself; contact customer service; sign up for our newsletter; sign up for events; and share your personal details by filling out forms on our Website and via third-party web- based solutions used by Sciety.

When you have become a member, Sciety may also collect data from public registers in order to fulfill our legal obligations.

6.       The period during which data is processed

We will not process your personal data for a longer period than necessary in order to fulfil the purposes of the processing, unless required by law or in order to protect Sciety’s legal interests.

We will delete your personal data, without undo delay, when you decide to cancel your membership, unless Sciety is required by law or regulations to store the data. If Sciety stores data after your membership has been cancelled, to fulfill its legal obligations, Sciety will delete your personal data once Sciety does no longer have a legal obligation to store the data.

7.       Security

All personal data is stored securely and is only accessed by authorized Sciety personal if need for support or service. We implement and maintain appropriate technical, security and organizational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorized or unlawful processing.

8.       Transfer of data

We will not sell, or otherwise distribute your personal data to third parties except as provided in this Privacy Policy.

Certain personal data may be disclosed to companies you have invested in through the Website, for the purpose of administration of their shareholders. If you are representative of a company that uses the Website to seek funding, you may also upload personal data about yourself or the company’s personnel or shareholders on the Website. If you do so, you are fully responsible that you have the appropriate legal ground for doing so. If you post comments on the Website, your comments will be displayed for other Website visitors along with your full name and if you use the Q&A questions on the website, your question will be displayed for other Website visitors.

We may also disclose your personal data to third-party service providers which have been selected by us to provide solutions for the Website and our Services. Some of the service providers we use are based outside of the EU/EES, which means that your personal data may be transferred and processed outside of the EU/EES. Only trusted third party service providers will be used. Our third-party providers are either certified under the EU-US Privacy Shield or follow the EU Commissions Standard Contractual Clauses. Personal data may also be disclosed to the Swedish Tax Agency (Sw. Skatteverket) for the purpose of filing documentation regarding capital distributions and tax relief, in order to safeguard Sciety’s interests, or otherwise as required by law, regulation or order of court or other legitimate government body or arbitration panel.

We may also disclose certain personal information to affiliates, partners, consultants or potential buyers of all or part of Sciety for the purpose of enabling them to provide services to Sciety or for evaluation of the company.

9.       Right to access, correction and objection

Whenever we process your personal data, we take responsible steps to ensure that your personal data is kept accurate and up-to date for the purpose which it was collected.

We will provide you with the ability to object to the processing of your personal data if such processing is not reasonably required for a legitimate business purpose. In case of direct marketing or advertising, you can alter or withdraw your consent for how we use your personal data by contacting us in accordance with section 9.

You are entitled to once per calendar year, free of charge, by sending a written signed request to us, receive copies of all personal information about you which is processed by Sciety as well as information regarding the purpose of the processing. You are also entitled to ask for rectification, amending, erasure or blocking of any inaccurate personal data.
